About Counselling Life Journey founder

Qualified Person-Centred Counsellor

I'm Julie, a qualified person-centred counsellor since 2010. Based in Rotherham helping a diverse range of clients to work through life experiences to gain clarity and acceptance whilst encouraging personal growth. Previous clients have presented with a range of issues from stress, bereavement, grief, relationships, anxiety, depression, self-harm to complex trauma to name but a few.  

Experience

During our lives we can all encounter challenging times which can affect our thoughts, feelings, behaviours and long term mental health. My experience spans over 14 years with over 1000 hours of counselling practice across a variety of settings in GP surgeries, a charity for survivors of abuse and a Multi Academy Trust (primary & secondary schools).  

Trauma Informed

As a Trauma Informed Person-Centred Counsellor I tailor therapy to meet  an individuals need. I offer empathy, compassion, and a non-judgemental attitude.

Qualifications & Accreditation

  • 2007 BSc (Hons) Degree in Psychology


  • 2007-2008 Person Centred Counselling Level 1, 2 & 3.


  • 2010 Diploma in Person-Centred Counselling


  • 2016 Post Graduate Certificate in supervision


  • 2018 Certificate in Counselling Children & Young People


  • 2020 Online Counselling


  • 2023 Online Supervision


  • 2023 Anxiety -Cognitive Behaviour Therapy


  • 2023 Cognitive Behaviour Therapy Diploma



Accredited member of The British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapist, adhering to their ethical framework.


In order to be an accredited member with the BACP I have demonstrated high standards of training, competence and experience, as well as personal awareness and understanding of how the way I work helps clients. 


My Commitment

  • Annually I complete over 30 hours of continuing professional development  to ensure my practice remains relevant and up to date.


  • Monthly I  attend Supervision for my practice to ensure I provide a quality service and maintain ethical practice.
